Palestine Flotilla at the People's Blockade

  • Horseshoe Beach Horseshoe Bend Rd Newcastle, NSW, 2300 Australia (map)

11-12.30pm. On the beach and in the water flying Palestine and Lebanese flags!

Ending Israel’s genocide against Palestine is a climate justice issue as well as a humanitarian one.

Founder and Director of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability, Palestinian ecologist and Professor Mazin Qumsiyeh says:

"There is both a genocide and an ecocide going on, supported by some Western governments against the will of the Western public."

Israel has murdered an estimated 186,000 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank over the last twelve months, report the Lancet (medical journal). As of October 7, 2024, Israel has invaded Lebanon with ground troops, killed over 2000 people in two weeks and is bombing Syria.

Israel has dropped the equivalent of two nuclear bombs in their assault on Gaza. The pollution to soil, air and water is immense.

As leading climate activist Greta Thunberg says, there is no climate justice on colonised lands.

This is why, at Rising Tide, activists are taking a stand for Palestine.

Join us on Nobby’s Beach for a mass display of solidarity with the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran.

We will take kayaks out onto the water and fly Palestine, Lebanese flags.

Saturday November 23, 11-12.30pm Nobby’s Beach, Newcastle. All welcome.
